‘Smartphones Look Just Like Guns’ Say Police

“Put down your weapon”

The United States Police Union has just issued a new directive warning members of the public that if they film the police carrying out their duties they might get shot because smartphones look just like guns.

Kenneth Bumble, president of the United States Police Protective League, which represents all officers, was eager to make the announcement.

“In order to keep the public safe at all times we suggest never, ever taking your smartphone out of your pocket or bag when you see a police officer going about their daily duties,” Bumble said.

“As far as I’m concerned and I speak for all police, smartphones look just like guns.

“For instance, the iPhone 6 Plus, from a distance, looks exactly like a Glock 9mm handgun and the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge can, in a certain light, look just like a MAC-10 fully-automatic sub-machine if held at the right angle.

“We, therefore, advise members of the public to never film police officers for their own safety.

“And that goes for white people too.”

Bumble went on to say that anyone ‘shooting’ a video of the police with a smartphone-gun-type-thing only have themselves to blame if anything tragic were to happen.

And if the worst were to happen the police would have no choice but to confiscate the smartphone and its contents for further analysis.
