Rachel Dolezal has stepped down as NAACP Spokane, Washington Chapter leader. And for good reason! She is on the road to make bank with numerous interviews, a Lifetime movie of the week, and of course, a book deal.

After the hashtag #racheldolezalmemoirtitles launched on twitter, I began to ponder what would be the perfect title of her new autobiography (because you know its coming).

Below I list five potential options that would help Rachel Dolezal on her way to the NY best seller list!

1. Little Trap House On The Prairie

This title is fitting because it captures the upbringing of Rachel Dolezal. The years of living in a tee-pee, and hunting for food with a bow and arrow really captures the trap house mindset.

2. The Mirror Has Two Races

This title gives the reader the feel of what it means to be trans-racial. It really must be devastating that one day you’re suing Howard University for racial discrimination because you’re white, to next claiming you’re black. The Mirror Has Two Races is a metaphor for the duality of this situation.

3. For Kinda Colored Girls When White Privilege Isn’t Enough

I think people are looking for an explanation on the difference in privilege she experienced. God knows why someone who benefits from white privilege would want to trade that in for the perks of “black privilege”. I guess coming from a well-to-do family was just not fulfilling.

4. Lost In Translation 2: Ebonics

When you are in another country, lots of things can get lost in translation. But what about placing yourself within another racial group? Its clear that using the N-word is not all it takes to fully assimilate into black culture. Learning how she navigated the language and lingo of her new people is no small feat. Makes for an awesome reading adventure!

5. A Tanning In The Sun

There is a mental and physical change that takes place when trading races. I think there is a fair amount of interest in Rachel Dolezal’s skin changes and make up tips. Hopefully, offering information on how other whites who want to look physically black, and stay looking black.

We are all wondering which way this situation is going to go, but you know a book is imminent. What will she discuss? What will we learn? What lies will she roll out with next? I guess only time will tell.
